In January of this year, two of my coworkers and I had the birght idea of running in the world famous Camp Pendleton Mud Run. All the hype kept us extremely motivated, until around February, where the swine flu got the best of us. Well, June snuck up on us and the time had come to perform.
The morning of June 7th was a cold and mildly damp morning. It would be me and Geoff Jarvis braving the course. The drizzle kept us cool, even though within a half mile of the race start every contestant was hosed down with firefighter grade water hoses. We worked our way through foresty and jungley areas, 2 miles of uphill running, lake crossing, wall hopping, and mud pit crawling to sweet sweet victory. It was fun.
